20 Months

Honestly, not much has changed since our 19 month post..We're going to do a quick rundown of 20 months, and I will try to do better with next month!

  • You now know your colors, many thanks to the gingerbread choo-choo that we made! (Thanks Aunt Jessi!)
  • You have started becoming very attached to your stuffed animals. ALL of them! You want to carry ALL of your animals around with you everywhere. You have always loved your little lovies, but your love for these is growing by the day :) Some days we can't make it out of the house without 5 or 6 different animals!
  • You have really enjoyed the Christmas tree this year and have been very good about not taking off all of the ornaments. (I have caught you sneaking a few off of the tree)
  • We enjoyed our annual family Christmas tree hunt with MiMi and Uncle Jeremy. You just loved being outside and getting to go on a tractor ride! We even took Ace on this adventure.

I just love this picture of you in the back of Da-Da's truck, but you were SO...MAD whenever we made you get down!
I promise to try to do a little better for next month's post!

19 Months

Playing catch up with Jacob's 19 month post. We will get to 20 months soon! Like I have said before, I am really going to try to keep up with this blog so I can one day turn it into a book! This month has been a very busy month for our family, so we're lacking on pictures!

At 19 months:
  • You are still liking swimming lessons. We are almost done for this year.
  • You have now had two haircuts with Mrs. Ann, and you still have those sweet blonde curls!
  • You enjoyed your first trip to New Orleans and your favorite part was the turtles at the zoo (see previous post). You and "Emmie" had so much fun together!
  • You still enjoy your tv shows. The SAME ones over and over (daddy is getting really tired of these!) :) You also still LOVE to read!
  • You're getting quite the little attitude and begining to test us! You spent your first time in time out the other day, and it seemed to do the trick!
  • You're a little demanding with what you want, but you have learned to say "PEEAAASSEE" and it is almost too sweet to resist! At least you're using good manners! You also say "tank-ou" whenever we give you something.
  • We are working on learning your colors and you're doing pretty good. We know blue and yellow so far, and we are working on the other ones!

This is your first time to ever wear jeans and a button-up shirt. You look so..cute but TOO grown up!!

4C Baby Shower

First, I just want to say how much I love my job! One of the main reasons that I love my job is the great people that we work with! Last month we held a baby shower for two of our sweet friends, Rachel and Leslie. The spirit was kept very lively with all of our sweet babies, and...I must say we have some pretty cute ones too :)
These pictures just turned out too cute not to post.

Sorry girls, I know these last ones aren't the best, but they pretty much summed up our fun night! :)

New Orleans Fun!

This past weekend, we loaded up, along with the McDaniel family, and took the kiddos to New Orleans! Much fun was had by all! We stayed at the Riverside Hilton which was a perfect location for people traveling with kids! The "Choo-Choo" (trolley) came beside our hotel and we were able to ride it almost everywhere we wanted to go. On Saturday, we had a little excitement when the fire alarm went off at 8 a.m. Did I mention we were on the 21st floor of this great hotel??? Yes, down 21 flights of stairs to evacuate the building! Jacob enjoyed himself and said "Weeeee...." the whole way down (pretty sure he was the only one who enjoyed this part of the trip).

The first night we had dinner at the Gumbo Shop in the French Quarter. Emmie Lane enjoyed chewing on her crayons while my child chewed on his knife-probably not the best choice of toys for a child his age.

We had beignets both Saturday and Sunday morning because the adults kids loved them so much!!

We spent nearly the whole day at the Audubon Zoo Saturday. If you've never been, this zoo is amazing!

Jacob's favorite animal was the "tuttle". Every exhibit, he looked for the "tuttles"!

THis was the best picture that we could get of the four of us!

Needless to say, this trip wore my little Jacob out!

Our first New Orleans trip with Jacob, surely to not be our last!

HO! HO! HO!

We're finally in the holiday spirit around the Thompson household. So, we decided to take Jacob to see Santa even though I was pretty sure that he was not going to be too excited to sit in his lab! He was ok with looking at Santa and said "Ho Ho!", but the minute we sat him in Santa's lab-He burst into tears! Big alligator tears!
Don't worry..We only made him sit there long enough to take his picture! Once we picked him up he was fine and even told Santa "Tank-ou" for his candy cane!

Pretty sure the four-wheelers were the highlight of Jacob's Bass Pro Santa trip!
Jacob got to open his first Christmas present from the Allen family, and he LOVES it!
They definitely picked out the perfect gift for both Jacob and Jay! Jacob has toted the bat, ball, and tee all around the house. It has already provided many hours of entertainment! Jay is also thrilled that Jacob loves a bat and ball! We may have a future baseball player on our hands! :)

The Allen's also gave us this fun gingerbread train kit. We had fun making it even though ours turned out a little wobbly after Jacob took a big bite out of the engine!

Merry Christmas from the Thompson family!
